Middle School - High School:
Students will continue to utilize the PowerSchool/Haiku Class learning and Edgenuity (HS) digital learning platforms. Teachers will have class assignments for the day posted on the platform so students are expected to check every day. As mentioned above, students will need to complete assignments on the same day they are assigned in order to be marked in attendance for each e-learning day.
We will be implementing e-learning classes during the week of March 16 and on Monday, March 30. See specific grades below for details. Spring Break will take place as scheduled from March 23-27. School will tentatively resume on-site on Tuesday, March 31.
| We understand that you may have technical questions/issues regarding the process. If you have problems or need help signing up for classes, administration will be available between 8 – 10AM on Monday, March 16 at the school to assist.
| All teachers are available between 8:00AM and 3:30PM, Monday through Friday, online via email or as described by your teacher. Please do not hesitate to direct any e-learning class/assignment related questions to your class teachers.
As per Illinois Governor Pritzker's announcement earlier this afternoon, all statewide public & private schools are to be closed for the next two weeks. DU will be CLOSED starting Monday, March 16 to Monday, March 30, insha'Allah.
Closure applies to all DU event, programs, and programs at the school until further notice.
The health and safety of our students is our top priority. We continue to follow and update our safety procedures based on the recommendations from the following resources:
1. Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC);
2. Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH);
3. Islamic School League of America (ISLA)
Currently the health risk to the general public from coronavirus remains low and IDPH recommends schools hold classes and events as usual, and follow routine cleaning and disinfecting procedures; no special measures are necessary.
A number of procedures are in place in order to ensure that families receive accurate information about school closing due to inclement weather. We understand that our decision to open or close school in bad weather has a significant effect on families. Therefore, we would like to remind all parents that once we know about a change in school opening, the primary source of communication is the school website. Please refer to the information below for helpful reminders about school closing.
Parent Assistance Program is implemented as a means of obtaining parental support of all the activities necessary to enrich the school experience for its students and also to promote a strong ethic of volunteerism since actions are linked to good deeds. Additionally, we would like parents to be actively involved in the school as effective partners in our development and success.
