Pre-Algebra MAT 099

Grade Level: 9

Credits: .5

Length: 2 Semisters

Pre-Req: None

The course includes the topics of manipulation of numbers, solving of equations and understanding of the general principles at work. Students will compute interest through percentages, compare rational numbers with scientific notation, and convert fractional numbers between fractions, decimals, and percents. Practical application through the incorporation of word problems is required in this course. The connection of math to real world problems will also be explored with STEM projects throughout each semester. This will develop the interconnection of coursework as well as develop critical thinking skills.
