On behalf of the DU Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), I would like to take this opportunity to welcome each of you and your families to Daarul Uloom Fulltime Islamic School. I would also like to encourage you to get involved in your school. One great way of doing this is through the PTO.

PTO Programs & Fundraising

Our primary objective as a PTO is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources and services that will enrich and maximize the Islamic education of every child. To meet this important objective and afford services that are no longer covered by our school budget, we must fundraise. Though it may not be our favorite responsibility, it is a necessary one.

Last year the PTO had headed many activities like our Book Fair, monthly pizza lunch, bake sales, our annual Eid Program, and more! We started collecting BOX TOPS and also in the past, we helped the DU board in their Coin Jar Collection Program. The PTO used these funds to expand the teachers’ resources so that our students continue to receive the outstanding education that they need and deserve.

Become a Volunteer…Why YOU should get involved

As you can see, we are a busy group. This is where you can come in! We need your help, and so do your children. Over 500 independent studies on parent involvement show that students whose parents are involved in their education have better grades and fewer discipline problems. There are endless possibilities in ways you can help.

Whatever your own level of flexibility, Daarul Uloom PTO always appreciates its parent volunteers, as do our teachers and staff. Keep in mind that by volunteering, you will get to enjoy interacting with the kids, become friends with other parents, and accomplish things that truly make a difference and most of all get “thawab/ajr”. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, your time, and your talents are truly needed. We can match your time constraints and interests to needed tasks. We have many ways in which everyone can contribute and we need your ideas and energy! We look forward to meeting you!

PTO Communication

We will send emails and post information on our school bulletin board. Please include your child’s name and teacher/grade when you join the PTO. Soon, you will see contact information for our PTO board, a calendar of events, volunteer opportunities, parenting resources, and other useful information. Check it out! For more information, please email Meysa at On behalf of Daarul Uloom PTO we would once again like to extend a warm welcome and prayers for a successful school year.

Jazakum Allah khayran!
